Aishwarya as Daenerys, Kiara as Sansa: AI swaps 'Game of Thrones' cast with Bollywood stars

The Al video, which is now making rounds on social media, has Ranveer Singh in place of Kit Harington's Jon Snow

Game of Thrones has had an exceptional run throughout its eight seasons and has subsequently garnered a wide fan base. But since the makers of the show concluded it in 2019, fans continue to indulge in the fantasy drama and its ensemble cast who portrayed some of the most iconic TV show characters. But have you ever wondered what the cast would look like if the show was based in Bollywood?

Recently artificial intelligence (AI) was employed to reimagine the characters - Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, Sansa Stark and the three siblings Cersei, Jaime Lannister and Tyrion Lannister - as Bollywood actors.

The Al video, which is now making rounds on social media, has Ranveer Singh taking the place of Kit Harington's Jon Snow, while Emilia Clarke has been replaced by Aishwarya Rai as Daenerys Targaryen. Similarly, the video casts Aditya Roy Kapur as the tall and strong Jaime Lannister, originally played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and replaces Maisie Williams with Alia Bhatt as Arya Stark. The character of Cersei Lannister, brilliantly essayed by Lena Headey, is handed to Tabu, while the role of Peter Dinklage's Tyrion Lannister seems fitting for Kay Kay Menon. Kiara Advani has also replaced Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark in the video and looks quite convincing.

The video, which was shared on Reddit, received a positive response from fans of the show as they seemed to be impressed by the on-point casting. One user commented "Perfect casting...love it", while an eager fan responded with "Make it happen". But on the flip side, there were also some fans who were not enthusiastic about the Hollywood to Bollywood switcheroo. A user wrote, "I banish you to the wall for traumatizing GoT fans with this piece!”

Game of Thrones first aired in 2011 and was based on George RR Martin's series of novels, A Song of Ice and Fire. The fantasy drama was created by David Benioff and DB Weiss. When it first aired, it set new viewership records and witnessed success till the series wrapped up in 2019. It received 59 Primetime Emmy Awards, the most for a drama series.
