ISLAMABAD:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has reserved its verdict on the PTI’s right to file further replies in the confiscation of prohibited funding case.

The polls supervisory body also gave the former ruling party till August 15 to submit a response on the intra-party elections.

A five-member commission led by the chief election commissioner (CEC) met in the federal capital on Tuesday.

PTI’s assistant lawyer Naveed Anjum appeared before the ECP and filed a supplementary reply.

When Anjum adopted the stance that the PTI’s record had disappeared after May 9 the CEC asked how many supplementary replies they would file.

The lawyer replied that they were “compelled” because of the current circumstances.

The CEC asked whether they should abolish their right to submit the reply.

He said order on the reserved verdict would be issued before the next hearing.
