The tight-knit community of Noor Mohammad neighbourhood near Khandvi Line Football Ground, Lyari, was shocked when dismembered body of a 65-year-old man, Aslam Baloch, was found at his home late on Saturday.
Aslam Baloch had been residing with his second wife and three daughters, but a grim twist of fate left their lives in disarray.
Mysteriously, the second wife and the children have gone missing since the macabre discovery.
As per the police report, the victim’s body was no less than two days old, bearing signs of a savage slaying, inflicted with a sharp-edge weapon.
The body was then ruthlessly dissected and concealed in a blue water drum and bucket.
Aijaz Mohammad Baloch, a brother of the victim, pointed accusatory fingers at the victim’s second wife, her elder daughter, and even her brother, alongside two ominous figures yet to be unmasked.
The arrest of the victim’s brother-in-law offered a glimmer of hope, while police continue to conduct raids in pursuit of justice.
Unfolding like a tragic tapestry, the life of Aslam Baloch wove a complex narrative, entwining two marriages that led to five daughters and a son with his first wife, and three daughters from his second spouse.
A familiar face around Chand Bibi Road, Moin Plaza, near Civil Hospital, Aslam Baloch’s absence for two days sent tremors through the hearts of his kin.
Family members ventured into the home of his second wife, where they were met with an ominous silence.
The lock they broke spoke of secrets waiting to be revealed, and the air bore witness to the putrid evidence concealed within.
The scene that unfurled before their eyes defied description: Aslam Baloch’s once-vibrant existence now lay in tatters, his body mutilated beyond comprehension.
A call to the Kalakot police set the wheels of justice into motion, while the remains were handed over to the mourning family for burial.
This tragic event has cast a pall of sorrow upon the community, as they grapple with the stark reality of malevolence lurking in their midst.
