KARACHI:

With the nation’s heart brimming with patriotic fervour, Mazar-e-Quaid, the mausoleum that cradles the legacy of our founding father, is abuzz with meticulous preparations for the Independence Day celebrations.

A devoted team of workers recently embarked on a momentous undertaking - to cleanse and rejuvenate the awe-inspiring dome that soars 102 feet high, with a regal radius of 70 feet, in eager anticipation of the approaching August 14.

The dawn of Sunday saw the administration of the Quaid’s mausoleum spring to life with purpose, as workers donned their mantle of responsibility, setting forth to wash the iconic dome.

They toiled for hours, ensuring not a speck of impurity remained to mar the grandeur of this revered structure.

Aleem Sheikh, Resident Engineer of Mazar- e - Quaid, said that the commitment to preserving the sprawling grounds surrounding the mausoleum extends beyond mere ritual - it is a year-long endeavour that culminates in a crescendo of preparation for significant occasions, such as the I Day celebrations.

Their efforts are a testament to their devotion in creating an ambiance that beckons visitors with a sense of pride.

The passion for perfection transcends the dome’s cleansing, as a symphony of restoration and embellishment project embraces the mausoleum.

The central gates are receiving an artistic flourish of vibrant hues, while the verdant landscape is nurtured to exude lushness.

The precision of grass cutting, the luster of marble polishing, and the care bestowed upon fountain repairs all contribute to an ethereal setting around the grave of the Quaid-i-Azam, echoing the reverence of a grateful nation.

A poignant symbol of the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, the gold-plated chandelier gracing the mausoleum, stands testament to the profound camaraderie shared between the two nations.

Honouring this precious token, the cleansing is executed with utmost reverence, reinforcing the unbreakable bonds uniting the hearts of these two great nations.

The Mazar-e-Quaid will host a ceremonial changing of the guards on the 14th of August.

A contingent from Pakistan Naval Academy will assume charge, symbolising the nation’s unyielding unity and commitment to guarding the legacy of its venerable founding father.
