SUKKUR:

Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) will officially open a new, modern tertiary care centre in Sukkur on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Spanning 27 acres near Sukkur bypass, the complex, constructed at a cost of over 6 billion, aims to address the growing medical needs in rural and remote areas of the province. Residents from Larkana, Nawabshah, and neighbouring regions are already benefiting from this expansion plan.

Ten years ago, SIUT established the Chhablani Medical Center in Sukkur with support from the Sindh Government. The new medical complex represents a collaborative effort between the government and the community, bringing medical services closer to the population. Syed Khurshid Shah, MNA, played a significant role in its development.

In its initial phase, the complex is equipped with 170 beds and 70 dialysis machines. Over the next three months, the facility will expand to offer advanced treatments in Urology, Nephrology, Liver, and a specialised cancer unit featuring PET CT and Cyclotron technology for timely diagnosis and treatment.

SIUT’s mission is firmly rooted in providing free medical treatment with dignity, without discrimination based on caste, colour, or creed. The expanding network of SIUT in the province strives to deliver accessible healthcare to all.
