KARACHI:

A sense of shock and sorrow descended upon the tightly-knit community of Abdullah Ghazi Goth when the body of a young man was discovered in their midst.

The victim, identified as Muhammad Naseem, a 25-year-old resident of Hub Chowki and father of two, met a tragic end two months after his court marriage to a woman from Dera Allah Yar, in the Jafarabad district of Balochistan. Their joyous occasion had been marred by threats directed at the bride's family.

On August 1, Naseem was abducted from a hotel near his home. The details emerged through the accounts of his cousin, Altaf Hussain, who bared the harrowing tale to The Express Tribune.

According to Altaf, Naseem was last seen at a nearby inn around 4pm on that fateful day, before being seized by a menacing group of four to five individuals, who whisked him away in a tinted vehicle. From that moment on, Naseem's phone became lifeless.

A day later, a lifeless figure was discovered amidst the quietude of the bushes near Northern Bypass, in Abdullah Ghazi Goth, Surjani Town. Police were alerted, who rushed to the scene to initiate an investigation.

The body was identified as Muhammad Naseem, but the grisly evidence painted a haunting picture of torture and a merciless death, all preceding the ultimate act of dumping his body.

In the wake of this gruesome discovery, the community was confronted with an even more sinister truth: not only was Naseem missing, but so too were his father, both of his wives, and their innocent children.

The father of Naseem's second wife coldly communicated with Altaf, instructing him to "go and pick up the body lying in the bushes". This haunting interaction served as the harbinger of a heart-wrenching revelation.

Naseem had been residing in the tranquil vicinity of Ashok Petrol Pump, one kilometre ahead of Hub Chowki. He was known for his unwavering dedication as a father, diligently nurturing his two children.

Beneath this shroud of tragedy lay a distressing truth: the woman Naseem had married had become a target of ominous threats from her own family members - her own father, brother, and uncle.

The incessant terror had cast a sinister pall over their lives, impelling Altaf to appeal to police, urging them to secure the safety of Naseem's father, both of his wives, and their children.

Police started a quest for justice, investigating the incident to unravel the dark secrets that lay beneath the surface and bring the culprits to their reckoning. A murder case shall be lodged with the Hub police station.
