Heartless man ‘tortures toddler daughter to death’

In a heart-rending incident, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl Fizza lost her life due to alleged brutal torture inflicted by her own father. The sickening act took place in Muhammad Ali Colony, Korangi Sector 51 B within the remits of Zaman Town police station, shattering the peace of the neighbourhood.

Anees Fatima, the grief-stricken grandmother of the toddler, revealed the harrowing truth about her son-in-law’s dark history of drug addiction and notorious reputation in the locality. Fizza’s mother had wisely chosen to separate from him, and took the little girl with her to live with her mother.

On July 26, tragedy struck as Fizza’s father, identified as Chand Mian, forcibly snatched her from her mother’s arms, allegedly with the intentions to exploit her for begging. Reports indicate that he subjected the defenceless toddler to unspeakable cruelty, stooping to the depths of inhumanity by setting her on fire in an attempt to elicit sympathy and garner more alms. As a result of this horrendous act, Fizza’s tender health rapidly deteriorated.

The following day, Fizza’s mother and grandmother went to Chand Mian’s residence. What they discovered was a scene of unimaginable horror: Fizza was lying outside the house, her tiny body severely burnt and clinging to life. They rushed her back home, determined to provide whatever care they could, despite their financial constraints. The battle for Fizza’s life was lost, and she succumbed to her injuries.
