Maids blamed for stealing gold, cash
In a shocking case of theft, a homeowner has accused freshly hired maids for stealing 80 tolas of gold and Rs2 million cash.
Shah Zaman Khan Bhutto, in a complaint filed at the Defence police station, said that family members hired a 30-year-old woman named Zainab to clean their house on Tariq Commercial Street No16 Phase VII DHA.
She used to come at 10am leave at 3pm. On August 1, she came with two other women aged between 28 and 30 and told my mother that they were experienced maids and both need some work, Bhutto said. They too were hired.
After it, Zainab started working on first floor with one woman while other one started talking with my mother on the ground floor. My sister and sister-in-law were in their rooms. After some work, Zainab told my mother that we have to go somewhere and will return in half an hour.
After sometime, almost at 15pm, mother need some money, so she went to the room on the first floor to open the locker. To her absolute shock, the key of the locker was missing.
Eventually, Bhutto said, they called in a locksmith for opening the lock. When the locksmith opened the locker, the family was devastated to find 80 tola gold and Rs2 million missing.
