Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi's 'Mirzapur' to be made into a film

After the record-breaking success of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s production, Mirzapur seasons one and two, fans have eagerly awaited the third installment of the franchise. The popular crime thriller stars the talented trio Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Shweta Tripathi in pivotal roles. 

The series made its debut in November 2018, instantly capturing the attention of viewers. The subsequent release of the second season in the latter half of 2020 only heightened the anticipation for Mirzapur 3, which is now in its post-production stage after being entirely shot.

Excitingly, there's more in store for the world of Mirzapur. Pinkvilla has learned that the producers have initiated discussions about bringing Mirzapur to the big screen as a film, besides its existing web series format. The makers see enormous potential in the vast array of characters and parallel plots within the Mirzapur universe that could be adapted into other content formats.

Although the idea for the film is still in its early stages of development, the creative minds behind the project are committed to crafting an entertaining cinematic experience that will captivate the audience. Once the concept is finalised, the production will delve into the logistical aspects of making the film a reality.

According to a reliable source close to the project, "The world of Mirzapur has fascinated the audience, and there is a lot of scope in terms of characters and parallel plots to be developed into other content formats besides the existing web series structure."

The insider went on to comment, "The conversation to make Mirzapur into a film has recently begun among the makers, and they are developing an idea that would entertain the audience. Once that is locked, they will get into the logistics. However, it is certain that they do want to present Mirzapur as a movie as well."

The remarkable ensemble cast of Mirzapur, including Tripathi, Divyenndu, Ali Fazal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda, among others, has played a significant role in the series' massive popularity. Tripathi, sharing her thoughts on the highly-anticipated Mirzapur 3, expressed that it will be the most formidable and spectacular offering yet, promising an enthralling experience for the viewers. 

She further revealed the tight-knit bond between the cast and crew, describing them as a close-knit family who makes it a point to reunite every two weeks.
