All set for Ashura in northern Sindh

Main procession to form at Clock Tower, culminate at Karbala graveyard for Sham-e-Gharibaan

All is set to observe Youm-e-Ashura on Saturday (today) with religious solemnity and reverence in northern Sindh including Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Jaccobabad, Noshehroferoze and other districts amid tight security.

Majalis-e-Aza will be held in Imambargahs and Zuljinah, Alam and Taazia processions will be taken out on designated routes followed by the 'Shame Gharibaan' on the culmination of processions.

In Sukkur, the central procession of Ashura will be taken out from Markazi Imambargah, Ghareebabad, and from Imambargah Karbala Mola, Rohri, including the Zuljinah that will be taken out from Imambargah Hussaini, old Sukkur.

All the processions will join at Clock Tower to form the main procession, which will be culminated at Karbala graveyard, at around 9pm, where Sham-e-Gharibaan would be held.

The participants of these processions will also carry out 'Zanjeer Matam' at Clock Tower, Minara Road Chowk and in Gharibabad Bazar.

Speakers will deliver speeches during the procession at Clock Tower. Social and religious organisations have set up hold sabeels where water, milk and other home-made sweet beverages would be distributed among the mourners.

Similarly the traders of the city would also organise 'langers' where free meals would be distributed among the people.
