ISLAMABAD:

Federal Energy Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Khurram Dastgir has said that there are clear patterns and not just assumptions about the bias of the current “chief justice towards the PML-N” and it is difficult for party Quaid Nawaz Sharif to get justice as long as he is in office.

“There is no political obstacle left regarding the return of Nawaz Sharif, but there are court cases,” the federal minister said in an interview with the Voice of America.

On the upcoming elections, the PML-N leader said that the security agencies had assured to provide security for the general elections in autumn.

"I am very optimistic as far as the election is concerned, that now that the resources are available, there is security, and we all want to consult the people so the elections will be held in the fall," he added.

Considering the past experience, he said, electoral reforms had been made and now it was the responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan to make the elections transparent.
