Rawalpindi man guns down wife

A man allegedly shot and killed his wife in Kohala village in the limits of Chakri police station on Wednesday.

According to the police, the man killed his 24-year-old wife named Javeria over a domestic dispute and fled from the crime scene.

After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, collected evidence and with the help of Rescue 1122 shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital.

The police said that they were trying to arrest the accused. A case has also been registered against the suspect.

In a separate incident, a woman allegedly hanged herself to death at her house in a village in the jurisdiction of Gujar Khan police station.

Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the body to a nearby hospital for completing medico-legal formalities.

The deceased’s family told the police that she was depressed due to family problems.
