QUETTA:

Sarawan tribe’s chief, Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani, has taken a significant step towards resolving the issue of Wadh by announcing the formation of a five-member reconciliation committee.

Following three days of intense exchange of fire, both factions agreed to an indefinite ceasefire, thanks to the efforts of Nawab Raisani and other tribal elders. However, it is important to note that armed men from both sides are still present in the trenches.

Haji Lashkri Raisani, a member of the reconciliation committee, informed the media about the committee’s composition. Maulana Faiz Muhammad, a religious scholar, has been assigned the role of the committee’s patron chief, while Wadera Ghulam Sarwar Mosyani will serve as the committee’s head.

Sardar Asadullah Mengal nominated Agha Sultan Ibrahim Ahmedzai and Maulana Abdul Saboor Mengal as members from his side, and Mir Shafiqur Rehman Mengal nominated Mir Muhammad Mengal and Mir Shahzad Ghulamani as committee members.

The primary objectives of this committee are to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and work towards finding a permanent solution to the conflict that has led to heavy gunfire and the use of heavy weapons in Wadh.
