Athletics: Kaniskina bidding for third title
In quest to become first woman ever to win three world 20km walk titles at the World Championships.
DAEGU:
Olga Kaniskina will take to the circuit around the streets of downtown Daegu bidding to become the first woman ever to win three world 20km walk titles, that too in succession, at the World Championships. Kaniskina will face tough opposition from teammates Vera Sokolov and Anisya Kirdyapkina, the world’s two fastest walkers in history having clocked 1:25:08 and 1:25:09 in the Russian Winter Walking Championships. Kaniskina, however, remains favourite for the title.
