RAWALPINDI:

A couple has been arrested for allegedly killing their six-year-old adopted daughter and for trying to conceal the evidence of murder.

According to police, the accused named Dildar Shah had adopted the little girl from his brother. Police said the wife of the accused was involved in torturing and ultimately killing her, while her husband played a role in orchestrating a cover-up for the heinous crime.

The incident's suspicion prompted police action, leading to the exhumation of the young girl's grave which eventually led to a comprehensive investigation to uncover the truth behind the incident. During the investigation, Samra Bibi, another accused, confessed to using hot tongs to torture the young girl, which ultimately resulted in her untimely death.

In an attempt to evade suspicion, Dildar Shah buried the girl and later filed a case against her wife. Their scheme entailed Dildar eventually pardoning Samra, thus creating the deceptive impression.

Nevertheless, the police thwarted their plan. After the exhumation, a post-mortem examination was carried out,it was proved that the girl was tortured.

As a result, police arrested both the accused.
