Millennium development goals: Punjab govt to spend Rs8.5 billion

Punjab government had allocated Rs42.30 billion to improve health facilities

Punjab Labour Minister Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi said on Tuesday that the Punjab government had allocated Rs42.30 billion to improve health facilities besides setting aside Rs8.5 billion to meet the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in the current fiscal year. Talking to a workers’ delegation, he said that the government would upgrade social security hospitals to ensure modern health facilities for labourers. “Over Rs2 billion has been allocated for the provision of quality health facilities in social security hospitals,” he added.
