Uninterrupted power supply ordered

Commissioner Multan Amir Khattak ordered MEPCO officials to ensure there is no load shedding or low voltage until the 11th of Muharram for the convenience of mourners in Multan. Chairing a meeting on Friday, the commissioner further ordered the repair of low-hanging electricity wires hanging and the installation of street lights along sensitive routes.

Additional deputy commissioner Nauman Afzal briefed the meeting that 180 CCTV cameras were linked to the control room to monitor mourning processions and Majalis. Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Chaudhry Farmaish and CO Zila council informed the participants that over Rs60 million had been spent on 78 uplift schemes, including patchworking roads. The rain had disrupted Asphalt work but it resumed after the rain stopped while a layer of sand would put on routes of processions on the 8th Muharram night.

Manager Operations Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) Anwar Ul Haq said that the Company has finalized consultations with license holders and procession administrators, while MD Wasa informed that all necessary machinery, including suction machines, were ready in case of urban flooding and all open manholes were covered.
