PM Shehbaz thanks UAE president for helping Pakistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a productive telephonic conversation with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday, expressed profound gratitude for the latter’s unwavering support in ensuring economic and financial stability in Pakistan.
This reflected the UAE president’s deep affection and care for the welfare of the Pakistani people, said the prime minister in a statement issued by the PM Office.
The prime minister also expressed gratitude for the generous deposits of US$1 billion in the State Bank of Pakistan.
Recalling his successful visit to the UAE in January, Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated the shared determination of the leadership in both countries to translate their fraternal bonds into mutually beneficial economic ties.

The prime minister also expressed appreciation for His Highness' kind invitation to attend COP28 and commended the UAE's proactive role in combating climate change. He expressed satisfaction with the discussions on prospective solutions to climate change challenges during the recent visit of the COP28 President-designate to Pakistan on July 6, 2023.
During the conversation, both leaders emphasised the importance of further advancing economic, trade, and investment ties between Pakistan and the UAE. They also discussed the creation of greater opportunities for the Pakistani workforce in the UAE. Additionally, the two leaders exchanged views on various regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Pakistan and the UAE share a long history of close relations, characterised by mutual trust, understanding, and close cooperation. The two countries have an abiding tradition of supporting each other. The UAE is home to approximately 1.7 million Pakistanis, who contribute significantly to the progress, prosperity, and economic development of both nations.
