KARACHI:

Iranian Consul General Hassan Noorian on Monday emphasised on enhancing the longstanding and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Iran.

During a meeting at Iranian Consulate with a delegation from the Karachi Press Club (KPC) headed by its president Saeed Sarbazi, he highlighted that Iran imports basmati rice, meat, and other commodities from different countries, offering significant trade opportunities for Pakistani businessmen. He emphasised the potential for fostering cooperation between the two nations across multiple sectors. Notably, the on-going Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline project exemplifies how Pakistan can benefit from Iran’s abundant energy resources. KPC President, Saeed Sarbazi proposed organising reciprocal visits for journalistic delegations between the two countries, which received a positive response from the Iranian Consul General. He expressed the Consulate’s strong ties with the KPC and accepted an invitation from Secretary Shoaib Ahmed Khan to visit the club.

Through increased collaboration across various sectors and the facilitation of people-to-people interactions, Pakistan and Iran are well-positioned to build a strong and more fruitful partnership.
