Netflix sets sight on video games as growth slows

Netflix eyes video games venture, as its growth hits lowest below 12% last year

Netflix has been striving to gain the attention of the younger generation by setting its sight on video games as its next chapter.

In late 2021, the streaming giant launched mobile games on its applications and created a nee dedicated studio in Helsinki, Finland for the creation of new games, Business Insider reported. Just last week Netflix released its latest title, a graphic adventure game developed by Night School Studio, called "OXENFREE II: Lost Signals." The game is available on Netflix app, Steam, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

As competition between HBO Max and Disney+ intensifies, Netflix growth has slowed, prompted the company to bring in new ideas to capture audience's attention. Netflix growth went below 12% last year, which is lowest it has ever been.
