Two die, four injured in roof collapse incidents

DIJKOT:

Two people were killed and four others, including two teenagers, injured under the debris when roofs of buildings collapsed during rain in different areas.

Rescue teams took the victims out of the wreckage and shifted them to hospitals.

According to officials, 28-year-old Yaqub, 16-year-old Mehboob and 37-year-old Asif were injured under the debris when the roof of a power loom factory collapsed in the Saddar area.

The teams shifted them to hospital after removing the debris, but Yaqub died. The police handed over the body to relatives of the deceased.

Amir, aged 40, Ahmed aged, four, and Amjad, three, were injured under the debris when a roof made of TR girder of a house near Risala fell during the rain.

Amir died after a struggle for life and death.

The police reached the spot and handed over the body to the family of the deceased after completing legal formalities.

Meanwhile, the roof of a house collapsed due to thundershower in a village, leaving four children of a family injured.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the incident took place in village 12-1/AL where the roof of the house owned by Munir Ahmed collapsed due to heavy rain.

As a result, Nimra, 17, Asifa, 14, Hassan Munir, eight, and a minor girl were buried under the debris.

Rescue service workers rescued the injured.

In Sialkot, a woman and a toddler were injured when the roof of a mud house collapsed.
