Police launch manhunt for escaped suspects

A citizen and a suspected robber were killed during robberies on Sunday.

Robbers killed the owner of a house near Chak 197RB and made off with a motorcycle, cash and a mobile phone.

According to the police, three robbers scaled the walls of Shahzad's home in the night and ransacked shelves, cupboards and trunks in search of valuables.

They took away Rs10,000 and a mobile phone from the family members Shahzad resisted the robbery. The robbers repeatedly struck him with a firearm and strangled him by tightening a noose around his neck.

They also stole a motorcycle from the home.

Police transported the body to a hospital for examination and registered a case under section 302 and 392 against the robbers on the complaint of the victim's brother.

In a separate incident within the jurisdiction of Saddar police station, Sajjad Hussain was robbed while on the way home after closing his shop. Hussain managed to wound one of the robbers, Nawaz, Chak 236, with his licensed pistol.

Following the incident, the injured robber was rushed to the Allied Hospital, wehre his injuries proved fatal.

Police said they had launched a manhunt to apprehend the accomplices of the deceased.
