LAHORE:

A female student of the Punjab University has filed a complaint in the Muslim Town police station of harassment by a rickshaw driver.

The complainant, a resident of the university hostel, stated in the application that she had hired a rickshaw from the Punjab University stop to go to Dharam Pura, but the driver started watching an immoral video on his mobile phone while driving.

She stated that the rickshaw driver did not stop the video despite being asked by her.

She said the 25-year-old driver stopped the rickshaw on the pretext of fixing a fault in the vehicle near the university campus bridge underpass.

The complainant stated that the suspect had pulled her facemask while she was sitting on the back seat and tried to manhandle her.

However, when the student made noise, people gathered at the spot, forcing the rickshaw driver to escape. The student complained that an FIR had not been registered on the basis of her complaint despite the passage of a week.
