Ayaz Shaukat to take charge after Jahangir Jadoon quits citing 'personal reasons'

ISLAMABAD:

Jahangir Jadoon has handed in his resignation as Islamabad advocate general (AG). Jadoon, who was appointed to the key post last year, will be replaced by Ayaz Shaukat.

In his resignation letter submitted to President Dr Arif Alvi on Saturday, Jadoon noted that he gave his resignation “due to personal reasons” and that he could not serve in the position anymore.

In May 2022, Jahangir Jadoon was appointed as the Islamabad AG, replacing Niaz Ullah Khan Niazi Jadoon represented the federal government at the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in many cases.
