Numbers of NA constituencies change in all Pindi districts

The number of voters in the fresh voter lists of both the districts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad for the upcoming general elections has seen a record increase while the new compilation has also changed the numbering of the National Assembly constituencies in the Rawalpindi Division as well as the Islamabad district.

According to details, all four districts of the Rawalpindi Division, including Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum, as well as the district of Islamabad have seen a substantial increase in the number of people eligible to cast their votes.

The total number of voters for seven NA seats of Rawalpindi district seats climbed to 3,449,221 which includes 1,789,409 male and 1,662,812 female voters. The district has 3,350 Ahmadi and 1,201 trans-person voters.

In the 2018 general elections, the number of voters in the Rawalpindi district was 3,121,416 with 1,644,498 male and 1,476,918 female voters.

Similarly, the overall number of voters for three NA seats from the Islamabad district climbed to 984,477 including 518,193 male and 466,284 female voters.

Changed numbering

On the other hand, the numbering of seven NA seats in the Rawalpindi district has also changed.

The new numbering of NA constituency NA-57 beginning from Murree in the Rawalpindi district for the forthcoming general elections will now be NA-51.

NA-58 Gujjar Khan, the constituency for the current NA speaker, will now be NA-52. NA-59, the previous electoral district of former home minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has become NA-53. PML-N’s Hanif Abbasi and PTI’s Sheikh Rashid Shafiq’s constituency of NA-60 has been changed to NA-54.

The new number for Rawalpindi Cantt’s constituency NA-61 is NA-55. The constituency of former home minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, NA-62, has now become NA-56 while the constituency of former federal aviation minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan NA-63 Taxila has been changed to NA-57.
