Man allegedly commits suicide after killing wife

A man accused of killing his wife on Wednesday was found hanging with an electricity pole in an agricultural field on Thursday.

Local police said that Popat Kachhi, resident of Malhi Goth Bagat, a village near Kot Ghulam Muhammad, allegedly committed suicide by putting noose around his neck and hanging himself with the electricity pole installed in the agricultural land before dawn.

In the morning as farmers set out to work, they saw a body dangling from the police and told the police. A squad from the Kot Ghulam Muhammad police station reached the spot and shifted the body to the taluka hospital for legal proceedings and then handed it over to the grieving heirs.

According to the family members, Popat Kachhi had escaped after killing his 40-year-old wife and mother of four children, Ganga Kachhi.

In a fit of rage during an argument, Popat had hit Ganga on the head with a wooden leg of a charpoy killing her instantly.
