RAWALPINDI:

The daily affairs of nearly two dozen government offices in Rawalpindi district have come to a grinding halt as employees continued their strike on Friday, demanding the approval of their charter of demands.

The strike has caused a complete disruption of operations, affecting various sectors and public services.

The ongoing strike has now enlisted the support of dengue patrol workers and lady health workers, exacerbating the situation. Consequently, all anti-dengue larvae-checking activities and vaccination programmes for children have been suspended.

The absence of these government officials in key departments poses a potential risk during the monsoon season, as their immediate availability for flood-related emergencies along Nullah Leh and the Swan River is crucial.

Friday witnessed a complete absence of dengue larva checking and vaccination services across the district.
