Mechanic allegedly gang-raped
A motorcycle mechanic was reportedly gang-raped in Basti Barat Shah, Kasur by five suspects, who also filmed the act.
A report was filed in Police Station B Division by Sarwar, a resident of the Barat Shah Kasur neighbourhood, alleging that his seventeen-year-old son was gang-raped. The victim worked as a motorbike mechanic on the old railway lines. On July 5th, under the guise of fixing a motorcycle rickshaw, accused Shahzeb brought him to a location close to the treatment plant.
The other accused, identified as Shahzeb’s older brother Parvaiz, Babar, Hasnain and others had already arrived there. All five of the suspects allegedly sexually abused the victim while recording video footage of the act.
Under the supervision of Police Station B Division SHO Waheed Arif, Choki Sabzi Mandi police arrested the suspects and locked them behind bars. The accused are under further interrogation.
Cases of sexual assault still remain commonplace in Punjab, with another gang-rape having been reported in Kasur on Wednesday.
Police arrested six accused who allegedly gang-raped a mentally-challenged girl within the limits of Kot Radha Kishan police station on Wednesday.
A resident of Mazhar Colony named Shazia Bibi filed a case in police station Kot Radha Kishan, alleging that her teenage daughter, who is mentally challenged, went out and was found unconscious.
The victim was immediately taken to THQ hospital and after not receiving medical treatment, they took her Jinnah hospital, where again they were denied medical attention.
The victim was then taken to the service hospital and at the time of discharge it was revealed that she was gang-raped.
Shazia Bibi inquired among locals about the incident, where it was found that her daughter was seen being taken to the basement of a private restaurant by the accused Sahil alias Momti, Khalil and three to four other unknown persons.
The victim was then reportedly gang-raped by the aforementioned suspects.
Upon receiving information about the incident, DPO Kasur Tariq Aziz Sandhu took immediate notice and issued orders for speedy action.
Kot Radha Kishan police station responded by registering a case of rape and arresting Sahil alias Momti, the main accused of gang rape.
