Jannat Mirza shares 'proof' of drama offers, threatens legal action
TikTok star Jannat Mirza has recently released screenshots of her conversations with alleged producers of a local television network, following the backlash she received for claiming to have secured leading roles in the dramas Parizaad and Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay.
In response to the trolling and to address the situation, Mirza took to social media and stated, "Never wanted to explain myself here or share personal chats here on social media because I find it disrespectful, but things were getting out of control." She also mentioned that she plans to take action against cyberbullying and defamation from certain channels that had trolled her without confirmation from the producers. Mirza emphasised that she would not lie about such matters on a show and urged people to confirm things officially before resorting to trolling.
"I'll be taking action against (cyberbullying, defamation) few immature channels who had no approach to these big producers, who trolled me on air without confirmation. Guys, I'm not dumb to lie about stuff on a show," shared the influencer. She further wrote, "So I think it's better to clear things out here...I think before trolling someone or damaging someone's mental health. It's better to confirm things officially. People are so frustrated these days, God! They can't see someone doing better." The TikTok star shared screenshots of alleged conversations with an unnamed representative of the network and producer Nina Kashif.
This controversy emerged after Mirza recently appeared as a guest on The Talk Talk Show and disclosed her plans to make her television serial debut soon. Having already played the lead role in the film Tere Bajre Di Rakhi, Mirza shared that she has received several scripts and intends to accept some of them. When asked why her TikTok audience did not support her film debut, Mirza attributed it to marketing issues and the final outcome of the film. Despite the disappointment, she expressed optimism about future projects and stated that there are more films and dramas to come.
Mirza revealed that although she has not auditioned yet, she was offered roles in Parizaad and Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, which were initially intended for Kubra Khan and Ushna Shah, respectively. However, due to her unavailability at the time, Mirza expressed regret for not being able to take on those roles.
Moreover, Mirza shared her personal preference to spend half of the year in Japan to maintain her privacy. She compared her situation to actor Ahsan Khan, stating that she lives "here and there as well". Mirza expressed that her private life has been compromised in Pakistan, where she feels the need to look presentable at all times. The constant scrutiny and unauthorised videos taken from random angles were reported as a cause of distress.
