Son shoots mother dead over petty dispute
A tragic incident occurred in the Ittihad Colony area of Ternol police station in the outskirts of the federal capital where a son, driven by rage over a petty dispute, shot her mother dead.
According to a spokesperson for the police, the suspect named Sohail, a twenty-year-old residing in Pirwadhai area, lived with his mother. His mother had a separate residence in Ittihad Colony, falling under the jurisdiction of Ternol police station, where some of her belongings were stored. She requested Sohail to retrieve these items from the Ternol house and bring them to their Pirwadhai residence.
In response to her request, he hired a mini-truck to transport the goods. Once they arrived, the mother instructed the driver to load all the items.
However, due to limited space in the loader, they could only fit everything except for one wardrobe. The mother suggested leaving the wardrobe for the next trip, emphasising its necessity within the household.
She explained that selling it would require them to purchase a new wardrobe from the market.
Contrary to his mother's wishes, Sohail adamantly insisted on selling the wardrobe. He claimed to have made prior arrangements for its sale, with a buyer enroute to their location.
Despite his mother's objections, Sohail forcefully shoved his mother into the mini-truck and instructed the driver to proceed towards their residence with her and the remaining belongings.
Tragically, Sohail opened fire once his mother refused.
The police said the body has undergone a post-mortem examination and had been handed over to the family. A case has been registered in connection with the incident, however, the primary suspect, Sohail, remains at large.
