RAWALPINDI:

Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population Welfare Dr Jamal Nasir said the provision of adequate facilities to patients is hindered due to mismanagement and lack of discipline within the hospital.

He expressed his anger over mismanagement while visiting a social security hospital in Rawalpindi and submitted the entire situation in writing to the Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi.

He emphasised the need to utilise hospital resources in an effective manner. He expressed his concern over the current mismanagement which had resulted in hours of waiting time for patients. He said that all the administrative issues plaguing the hospital must be rectified within a week and warned that failure to address these concerns would result in stringent actions being action.

He conducted an extensive visit to various sections of the hospitals including the emergency, OPD wards, labs and x-ray room. During his visit, he personally engaged with the patients to seek their feedback on available resources and doctors’ behaviour.

Mohsin Naqvi has substantially augmented funding for social security hospitals and issued directives to ensure the provision of treatment facilities to domestic workers, he added.

He further said social security hospitals are less crowded as compared to general hospitals.
