Govt adopts collaborative strategy to tackle dengue

Discussions held to ensure effective awareness campaigns, strengthened surveillance and precautionary measures in K-P

In order to combat the dengue epidemic in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Dengue Volunteer Task Force and the provincial health department have jointly prepared a comprehensive action plan.

The new plan will seek assistance from locals including religious leaders and heads of educational institutions.

K-P Health Secretary Mahmood Aslam Wazir held a meeting with the volunteer team and formulated a joint action plan to control the dengue outbreak in the province.

Detailed discussions were held during the meeting to ensure effective awareness campaigns, strengthened surveillance, and precautionary measures against the virus in various districts of the province.

The dengue team leadership assured the health secretary of their complete cooperation to gain control over the epidemic.

The dengue team emphasized the importance of building trust among local religious leaders, scholars, and heads of educational institutions to effectively raise awareness among the general public regarding dengue prevention and necessary precautionary measures.
