The Punjab Council of the Arts (PAC) organised a two-day Islamic calligraphy & painting exhibition in collaboration with VSCOPK.
The chief guest of the opening ceremony of the exhibition was Managing Director Pakistan Baitul Maal Amir Fida Paracha while Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmed, Naheed Manzoor, Muhammad Sulaiman and Mian Afzal Javed were also present.
On the occasion, Amir Fida Paracha emphasised that calligraphy holds a shared heritage among Islamic nations, serving as a medium to foster connections and strengthen relationships within Islamic societies. The art of calligraphy, along with other genuine art forms, plays a crucial role in safeguarding individuals from straying away from virtuous paths. Paracha further said Almighty, as the creator, represents and embodies beauty.
The esteemed chief guest extended congratulations to all the painters and calligraphers for their exceptional work. Naheed Manzoor highlighted the prominence of nature and earthly hues depicted in the paintings.
Director PAC Waqar Ahmad expressed that the amalgamation of diverse themes in an exhibition itself represents an artistic endeavour. He acknowledged the Arts Council’s consistent commitment to providing a platform for the youth, enabling them to showcase their work on a global scale.
Waqar Ali, Arsalan Ali, Ahmed, Hamza Ali, Shah Rukh, Maham, Ayesha, Bashira, Fatima, Tabsum, Khola Khan and other painters and calligraphers were awarded with certificates and shields. The exhibition drew a significant number of attendees from the twin cities who came to appreciate the displayed artwork.
