PESHAWAR:

The colorful Shandur polo festival concluded with grand success in Chitral Valley.

Thousands of tourists, including international visitors, gathered in the scenic Chitral Valley to witness and enjoy the three-day traditional Shandur Polo Festival.

The provincial government, in collaboration with the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), made dedicated efforts to promote sports and tourism, with special attention given to the thrilling polo matches.

Shandur, the world’s highest polo field located in Upper Chitral, hosted the annual polo festival, showcasing teams from Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral. The unique location of the polo ground attracted adventure seekers and polo enthusiasts from around the world, as expressed by a foreign tourist.

The festival reached its climax with the final match between the Chitral and Gilgit Baltistan teams.

In addition to polo matches, the event featured captivating traditional, cultural, and adventurous activities, including evening music, dance performances, and other festivities at the world’s highest polo ground in Shandur.

The festival was attended by local officials, high-ranking civil and military authorities, a large number of local residents, and esteemed guests.

Local artists entertained the audience with mesmerizing Waziristan dances and patriotic songs.
