Efforts to remove overhead wires were discussed at a lunch event arranged to celebrate the recovery of Khalid Arain, the Chairman of the Cable Operators Association of Pakistan (CAP). Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Hassan, and other individuals attended the event.
During the gathering, Arain mentioned the discussions held with the Sindh government regarding removing overhead wires in the city. He highlighted that wires had already been removed and placed underground in Lahore.
However, in Karachi, obtaining permission to work from various entities such as KMC, DHA, or the Cantonment Board has become a complex issue. Arain requested the government enact legislation to facilitate their work and simplify obtaining permission for digging
