LAHORE:

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge on Saturday, while granting pre-arrest bails to Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party leader Fawad Chaudhry, restrained the police from arresting him in two FIRs registered against former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders and workers in response to arson, chaos, and anarchy following former prime minister Imran Khan's arrest on May 9.

The ATC judge granted him bails till August 8. Meanwhile, the judge also summoned the police record by the aforementioned date.

The petitioner's counsel contended that Fawad was implicated in a forged case despite him having nothing to do with these charges. He requested the court to grant him bails.

The law officer opposed the bails.

However, the ATC judge granted him bails by restraining the police from arresting him till the next date.
