CTD inspector caught in vehicle theft case

Police have apprehended a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) inspector and four others for stealing a pickup loaded with cooking oil and ghee from the New Karachi Industrial Area. Shehryar, an employee of Fatah Traders Company, reported the incident and stated that he was transporting the goods when a police mobile with six officers stopped him near Chand Market. They forcefully took him off the pickup and drove him around before abandoning him. Shehryar promptly informed his owner, who contacted the New Karachi Industrial Area Police.

Utilising the vehicle’s tracker, the police located the Suzuki at a shop in the Garden area. During the raid, three individuals were caught unloading the stolen goods while another person managed to escape. The arrested individual, Mohammad Saeed, implicated Arsalan as the accomplice who had escaped and revealed that he had purchased the stolen items from Inspector Zafar Iqbal. Inspector Zafar Iqbal, who was stationed in CTD Intelligence, has been arrested, and an investigation has commenced.

Meanwhile, specialised Investigation Unit (SIU) of police on Friday arrested four suspects involved in robbing citizens in the guise of online bike hailing service riders. Spokesperson to SIU said that suspects targeted people coming out of banks and ATJM booths. Police recovered four pistols two stolen motorcycles and special green helmet of the rider service from the suspects.
