LAHORE:

A drone carrying six kilogrammes of drugs worth millions of rupees crashed in Lahore on Friday, police said.

According to police, the incident took place near the Halloki area of Kahna town where the drone – reportedly unusually large in size – rammed into the fields of a landlord identified as Rozdar.

Subsequently, the police reached the site to take the drone into its custody and hand over the drugs it was carrying to the Anti-Narcotics Force.

An investigation will be launched to find out the planned course of the drone, including the place it took off from, where was it being operated from as well as its intended destination, the police added.

It may be noted here that earlier this year, the Narowal police had arrested five suspects allegedly involved in cross-border heroin smuggling via drones.

During the course of the probe, the police also confiscated a control device, eight batteries and automatic weapons.
