Missing FC officer found dead

The body of a Frontier Corps officer was found near the Mureed Phatak area within the jurisdiction of the Mandra police station on Thursday.
According to sources, the officer had been fatally shot. They said he had left for Mandra the previous night after accepting a lift on a motorcycle. Following the incident, the police have launched an investigation to lay facts regarding the case bare, they added.
According to the police, the deceased, identified as 29-year-old Zulfiqar, had traveled on a motorcycle with his brother to visit their sibling, who was incarcerated in a prison in Azad Kashmir. When their motorcycle broke down on Mandra-Chakwal Road, Zulfiqar proceeded to Mandra on a passing motorcycle, but failed to return by morning.
His absence was reported to the police and during the search, the body of the deceased was found in the vicinity of Mureed Phatak on Mandra-Chakwal Road. Police sources have disclosed that the victim's mobile phone was not discovered at the scene.
After the completion of the post-mortem examination, the deceased's body was handed over to the family. A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
