Actor Sheheryar Munawar had two projects released this Eid – one in which he acted and another that he directed – and he is basking in the success of both endeavors. Pasoori, the film in which he acted alongside Ramsha Khan, marked the directorial debut of Marina Khan in the anthology film Teri Meri Kahaniyaan. On the other hand, Munawar's own creation was a telefilm titled Budhi Ghori Lal Lagam, which he wrote and directed, revolving around the love story of an elderly couple.

On Wednesday, three days after the telefilm premiered on television, Munawar took to Instagram to express his gratitude to his fans and industry colleagues for their love and support. He wrote, "Thank you all for the wonderful response to our labour of love, 'Budhi Ghori Lal Lagam.' I am overwhelmed and humbled by the detailed messages and feedback I have received. Every single detail has been noticed, and for that, I am grateful to all of you."

Munawar also shared behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot, featuring "most of the special people responsible" for the film and capturing some fun moments. The images showcased the entire cast, including lead actors Simi Raheal and Salman Shahid, as well as superstars Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan, who made cameo appearances in the telefilm.

Additionally, Munawar shared the YouTube link to the film for those who missed the television broadcast. He also expressed his gratitude to the producers for believing in his work and choosing a narrative that is rarely explored on Pakistani television. "Love, light, and prayers for my entire team," he concluded.

Budhi Ghori Lal Lagam breaks away from stereotypical storylines and centers around Jahangir (Shahid) and Zubi (Raheal), a couple in their 60s who have dedicated their lives to raising their children, Ayesha and Kareem. Once their children are settled, they prioritise their own happiness and embrace an unconventional and carefree lifestyle, which doesn't sit well with their offspring. The telefilm skillfully delves into the societal taboos associated with senior citizens leading independent lives, portraying the reactions of different members of society.

Critics have applauded Shahid and Raheal for their exceptional performances as Jahangir and Zubi, infusing the telefilm with humour and heartwarming moments. Their chemistry and acting prowess make Budhi Ghori Lal Lagam thought-provoking and highly entertaining. Khan and Saeed's romantic cameos add to the charm and grandeur of the telefilm.

Budhi Ghori Lal Lagam boasts an exceptional ensemble cast, including Ahsan Khan, Sarwat Gillani, Behroze Sabzwari, Asma Abbas, Huma Nawab, and Aadi Adeal Amjad.
