HYDERABAD:

A teenager in Hyderabad took his life because he was barred from using a mobile phone by his father.

As per police, 18-year-old Taha Sheikh allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in the Pretabad neighbourhood within the limits of the Pinyari police station.

The police shifted the body to Hyderabad Civil Hospital for legal procedures and subsequently handed it over to the heirs for burial.

Police quoting the deceased's family members said that Muhammad Imran Sheikh used to restrict his son Taha from excessively using a mobile phone because it was also affecting his eyesight besides education and social behaviour.

On the fateful day, Imran snatched the cell phone from Taha and reprimanded him for being hooked to the device. However, instead of heeding paternal advice the teen committed suicide, police said.
