Man shot dead over enmity in Kahuta

Police say deceased’s brother, four passers-by also injured in shooting

A man killed while his brother, including two women and a man, were injured when armed men opened fire on them at Panjar Chowok in the jurisdiction of Kahuta police station on Monday.

The body and the injured were shifted to the hospital.

According to the police, the shooting took place when Raja Sufail, who belonged to Khadiot, along with his brother Waseem reached Panjar Chowk in his double-cabin vehicle. As a result of heavy firing, the car was also badly damaged and Raja Sufail died on the spot while Waseem was seriously injured.

According to the witnesses, three passers-by named Zainab, Safina and Akram were also injured in the crossfire.

Police and forensic experts headed by DSP Kahuta, Chaudhry Athar Ali, after collecting evidence from the crime scene, shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem.

Rawalpindi CPO Khalid Hamdani took notice of the incident and sought a report from SP Saddar and ordered the immediate arrest of the accused.

SP Saddar Nabil Khokhar said that the incident took place over an old enmity. He added that evidence has been collected from the scene and the accused will be arrested soon.
