Bitter Sweet Steal: Four arrested for sugar theft
Over 2,500 bags of 5 kg sugar were in the impounded truck
BAHAWALPUR:
Mussafir Khana Police has arrested 4 people for stealing sugar from a local mill. According to police officials, Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Irshad, Muhammad Asif and Bashir Ahmed stole a truck loaded with sugar on Saturday night. A case was registered under Section 420-3/7 against 7 people, including the Utility Store regional manager Tauseef Gill over misappropriation/theft of official sugar. Over 2,500 bags of 5 kg sugar were in the impounded truck while the police has only written 500 bags of 5 kg sugar in the FIR. An inquiry has been ordered.
