JI marks Black Day
In response to the appeal by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq to observe a countrywide Black Day, the JI Karachi chapter held a protest demonstration at Shahrah-eQuaideen against what the party called the Pakistan People Party's fascism to capture the Karachi mayor office by force through undemocratic, unconstitutional and illegal tactics.
Addressing the protesters, JI Karachi Ameer Naeemur Rehman said that the entire country has expressed solidarity with Karachi and Karachiites against rigging the local government elections. He said that even children across the country have been identifying the PPP leadership as mandate thief. Meanwhile in Hyderabad Aqeel Ahmed Khan, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami district Hyderabad, spearheaded the Black Day protest in front of Mubarak Masjid Latifabad, while Hafiz Tahir Majeed, Deputy General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh, led the demonstration at Quba Mosque. Under the guidance of General Secretary Adnan Danish, protests were held in front of Mustafa Mosque in the Preetabad Zone.
