KARACHI:

The men involved in the alleged altercation in Gulshan Iqbal 13B between the AntiVehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) and a gang of car lifters have made some startling revelations. They disclosed that they were involved in selling stolen high-end vehicles at significantly lower prices. Among the detained suspects from the Afghan gang of carjackers, who sustained injuries during the incident, are the ringleader Abdullah Afghani, Shiraz Fazal, Javed Khan, and Azam. According to reports, the suspects are believed to have stolen automobiles from more than 150 residents of Karachi.

The injured gang leader, Abdullah Afghani, has divulged crucial details about their operations. It appears that the accused were part of a well-organised gang of carjackers involved in various activities, including auto part theft. SSP-AVLC Abdul Rahim Shirazi has stated that the suspects have stolen and sold over 150 vehicles, with a particular focus on high-roof minivan and popular sedan models. These stolen cars were then sold to different buyers in Hub, Balochistan. The suspects have confessed to have stolen and sold high-roof minivans worth half-a-million rupees or more for only Rs70,000 to Rs100,000, while sedans worth over Rs1.5 million for around Rs120,000 or more.

Each member of the gang received between Rs15,000 and Rs20,000 for a single delivery. Notable buyers include Hanif, Shakeel, Rafiullah Iqbal Khokar, and his wife. Azam, who is a resident of Ahsanabad, possesses exceptional skills in unlocking automobiles, enabling swift delivery of the stolen vehicles to Hub within three hours. Remarkably, the suspects have managed to travel from Karachi to Hub without being stopped or confronted by any law enforcing agency.
