Kiara Advani reportedly joins Hrithik Roshan, 'RRR' star Jr NTR in 'War 2'
Seems like Ayan Mukerji's sequel to the 2019 action-thriller, War, just got much bigger. After the news of RRR star Jr NTR joining Hrithik Roshan went viral, another popular name has been added to the star-studded cast. As per Pinkvilla, Kiara Advani is all set to be roped into Yash Raj Films' popular spy universe and will be starring in War 2.
A source revealed to the publication, “Kiara Advani fits the bill to a T as far as YRF Spy Universe and War 2 is considered. The YRF Spy Universe is a league of all-time blockbuster films like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War and Pathaan and the expectation from each movie coming out from this franchise is sky high."
The insider added, "Look at the superstars who have graced this universe. It’s the most coveted film universe in India that stars the biggest and the best superstars in the country. Kiara is right now at the top of the heap and Adi taking her for War 2 loudly signifies that.”
The source furthered, “War 2 right now has the hottest cast! You have three superstars in it like Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and now Kiara Advani! Then you have the brightest young director in the country, Ayan Mukerji, directing War 2! Aditya Chopra is going all out to make this film the slickest and the coolest action entertainer that this country has ever seen."
The insider concluded, "It will be really exciting to see Kiara in this universe and how Ayan and Adi present her in War 2. All the heroines of the Spy Universe have left an unforgettable mark on Indian cinema. Now, it is Kiara’s turn and we all know she can make a huge impact on screen with War 2.”
While the YRF Spy Universe is yet to beat the Marvel Cinematic Universe in terms of installments, the fact that it has created massive hype cannot be understated. With some of the biggest names in the industry roped in for all the ambitious projects, the next few years will be quite intriguing in terms of Indian film releases.
The spy universe kicked off with the Tiger franchise. The series started with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012, followed by Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017, and War in 2019, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The four films collectively grossed over $300 million.
