Punjab ACE likely to arrest Hammad Azhar

Case pertains to the irregularities in the construction of AFCO Steel Mill

LAHORE:

Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has initiated action against Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar by filing a corruption case involving millions of rupees in Sheikhupura.

The case pertains to the irregularities in the construction of AFCO Steel Mill.

The provincial graft-buster has also conducted raids for the arrest of the PTI leader.
According to the first information report (FIR), the former minister Hammad caused losses to the tune of millions to the national exchequer through the steel mill commercialization fees.

PTI’s Hammad and the Municipal Committee Ferozewala Building Inspector Haji Muhammad Iqbal have been nominated in the FIR.
The investigation will further identify the involvement of other responsible individuals in the illegal constructions of AFCO.
