Five women ‘thieves’ netted

Nawan Kot police have arrested five women who were allegedly members of a burglary gang on Wednesday.

The arrested suspects were identified as Saima, Shumaila, Ateeqa, Perveen and Ayesha and police also recovered Rs200,000 worth of stolen items from their possession. They also recovered Rs65,000 rupees in cash, four mobile phones and other items.

The suspects would allegedly enter house under different false pretenses, including as maids and steal the valuables.

In another incident, Investigations Police Naseerabad arrested two suspected robbers.

The arrested suspects were identified as Afzal Iqbal and Arbaz Ali and police also recovered Rs50,000 in cash, laptops, eight mobile phones and illegal weapons from their custody.
