Slain journalist Arshad Sharif’s second wife Javeria Arshad on Saturday submitted a written response to the Supreme Court in her husband’s murder case, suggesting that non-cooperation by the Kenyan government could be raised at the relevant forum.
The response referred to various United Nations resolutions and international laws, asserting that Pakistan had the right to claim jurisdiction in Kenya.
She claimed that the laws for prevention of planned crime across states existed. Both Pakistan and Kenya, she added, acknowledged international laws in this regard.
Javeria argued that in case of violation of the international laws, a reference could be made at other forums, including the United Nations.
The Supreme Court's special larger bench will hear the Arshad Sharif murder case on June 13.
