8 killed in Lowari Top accident

At least eight people of the same family, mostly women and children, died while 17 others sustained injuries in a road accident near the Lowari Top, officials from the Rescue 1122 and the district administration said on Thursday.

According to the officials, the accident occurred at Kochhan Gol in the village of Ishriat, near Lowari Top. They added that the victims were travelling in a double-cabin vehicle from Upper Dir to village Damir in Chitral.

“Twenty-five people, belonging to the same family, were travelling in the double-cabin vehicle, while on their way back home after attending a celebratory event at their relatives place in Upper Dir,” a rescue official said.
